The Museum of Arts & Sciences (MOAS) is the primary art, history and science museum in Central Florida. Located on a 90-acre Florida nature preserve, the 86,000 square foot facility is host to over 30,000 objects including the finest collection of American Art in the southeast, the largest collection of Cuban art outside of Cuba, a significant Chinese art collection and Florida's prehistoric Giant Ground Sloth. Also on display, is Coca-Cola entrepreneur Chapman Root's lifetime collection of Americana, including two private rail cars. The museum's theater, planetarium, and children's center make for a truly interactive experience.

The museum also includes the new Charles and Linda Williams Children's Museum and is the only hands-on science center in Volusia County. The 9,000 square foot addition to the Museum of Arts & Sciences houses cutting-edge, interactive science exhibits for children.

Time: Please note: Time shown on availability calendar is for booking purposes only. The museum is open 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Tuesday through Saturday and 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on Sunday. You are free to visit any time during open hours.  
Summary: This tour does NOT include hotel pick-up or drop-off. Rates are per person. Please reserve online, or call us toll-free at 888-794-3398. There is a $3.95 processing fee per order. This is a flat fee regardless of the number of tickets or tours purchased on an order.
There is a service charge per ticket. This charge will be reflected on your summary before you checkout. The total shown includes any and all taxes, fuel surcharges, and service fees. There are no additional charges.

Cancellation Policy: There are no refunds. All sales are final.

Change Fee Policy: If changes are allowed on a tour or activity, a $20.00 per reservation change fee will be applied for any change to a reservation. Please note that some tours and activities do not allow any changes. Date changes can be made only if we can confirm availability on the new date. While we cannot guarantee any changes can be made, all change requests must be submitted a minimum of 24 hours prior to the tour departure and must be handled on an individual basis through our Reservations Center.

Collections:

Americana & Coca Cola
The Root Family Museum Features one of the largest Coca-Cola memorabilia collections in the world, teddy bears, Indy Series race cars, train cars, and other popular Americana.

Chinese Art
The Schulte Gallery showcases one-hundred Chinese objects from the Museum's permanent collection including a selection of Chinese decorative arts given by the Schulte family, and works of art from other donors. Porcelain, gemstones, bronzes, cloissone', manuscripts and pottery illustrate thousands of years in the development of art in China. Large interpretive illustrated panels on Chinese history and social customs complement rare objects in a multicultural overview of this civilization. Important T'ang and Wei horses, Han and Ming tomb figures, Ch'ing gemstone carvings, Yuan bronze and gold vessels, Ming and Ch'ing blue and white objects, Rose Medallion objects and other styles of Export porcelain highlight one section of the gallery.

Cuban Art
The Cuban Foundation Museum is home to one of the most important collections of Cuban fine and folk art outside of Cuba. The collection chronicles 300 years of Cuban history and art in more than 200 objects. Highlights include extremely rare eighteenth, nineteenth and early twentieth century maps, documents, lithographs, paintings, furniture, sculpture, and ceramics interpreted bilingually, in a two thousand square foot gallery installation.

Decorative Art
The Anderson C. Bouchelle Center for the Study of International Decorative Arts and its adjacent gallery, contain 508 objects from The Museum's collections. Jewelry, porcelain, glass, silver, gold, enamels, furniture, mirrors and assorted decorative arts are interpreted through illustrated text panels, labels and a CD-ROM that gives guests access to further information on the collection. Highlights include Meissen, Berlin, Vienna and Vieux Paris porcelain, Staffordshire pottery, American Silver objects, Russian enamels, gilt bronze objects and cases of American Brilliant Period Glass from the permanent collection.

Dow Gallery of American Arts
A four thousand square foot exhibition hall designed to showcase selections from the Museum's large and growing American collection of furniture, painting, watercolors, drawings, and the decorative arts including silver and glass. The gallery is interpreted chronologically with emphasis on the Pilgrim Century, the Eighteenth Century, and the American Victorian Period.

The Sculpture Garden
This is a 2.5 acre outdoor exhibition area with bench seating and underground lighting featuring large works by major contemporary sculptors including Alfreda Halegua, Ernest Shaw, Juan Jose Sicre, Fonchen Lord, Doris Leeper, Ralph Komives and Harriet Kittay.

The Charles and Linda Williams Children's Museum
The the only hands-on science center between Jacksonville and Orlando. The 9,300 sq. ft. addition to the museum opened November 21, 2008. The Children?s Museum houses professionally designed interactive exhibits that demonstrate various principles of science. The exhibits have been designed by Hands-On, Inc., an award-winning exhibition design firm with clients from major cities around the world including Cairo, Belfast and Boston.

MOAS is a not-for-profit educational institution founded in 1955 and chartered by the State of Florida in 1962. The Museum is accredited by the American Association of Museums and is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution. MOAS renews over 5,000 memberships annually representing over 17,000 individuals. The Museum publishes Art & Sciences magazine quarterly along with catalogs and books specific to its permanent collections.

- Museum is closed on Mondays except for major holidays.
- Planetarium and Laser Light shows are included with museum admission. Planetarium seating subject to availability.
- The Museum will be closed Thanksgiving day and Christmas day.
- PLEASE NOTE: the Museum will close at 3:00 pm December 24, December 31.
- MOAS is fully accessible by wheelchair.
